Doctrinal Statements

Articles of Faith

The Articles of Faith, presented here as originally envisioned by the founders of the organization, have been and continue to be the stated theological position of California Christian University and are an essential part of the Articles of Incorporation of the university.

The University is independent evangelical denominational and theologically conservative, the Articles of Incorporation contain a doctrinal statement which is given below:

  1. The Scripture’s inspiration. The Bible is the word of God inspired and The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are without error or misstatement in their moral and spiritual teaching and record of historical facts. (2 Timothy 3:15-16 – 2 Peter 1:19-21).                                                  
  2. There is one true God. There is one God, eternally existing and manifesting Himself to us in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4 – Mark 12-29).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         
  3. The Deity of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus, was with God and was God. He is a divine person possessed of all the attributes of Deity, and should be worshiped as God by angels and man. “In Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” (Acts 3:14-15 – Acts 2:32-33).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

  4. Man’s Salvation. All men, until they accept the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior, are lost, alienated from the life of God by being, morally and spiritually dead through their trespasses and sins. They cannot see, nor enter the Kingdom of God until they are born again of the Holy Spirit.

  5. Baptism in water. Is a biblical mandate, a symbol of death and resurrection. It is a public act of our own devotion to Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19 – Acts 2:38).

  6. The Holy Communion. When we celebrate communion together, we symbolize the bread and wine as Jesus’s body and blood. To remember that Jesus gave his body for me and poured out his blood for me; he willingly sacrificed all for me. (1 Corinthians 11:26).

  7. The Church. The Church consists of all those who, in this present dispensation, truly believe in Jesus Christ. It is the body and bride of Christ, which Christ loves and for which He has given Himself. (Ephesians 1:22).

  8. The gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person, and is possessed of all the distinctively divine attributes. He is God. He allows gifts to manifest in the church to fulfil spiritual needs. (1 Corinthians 12:1-2 – Romans 12:6-8).

  9. Jesus Christ’s return. Christ’s return to earth in power and glory as he judges the world in righteousness to bring an end to evil and to rule and reign in the new heaven and new earth as the eternal dwelling place for the redeemed. The time of this “rapture” is unknown, and thus believers are to live constantly watchful and ready. (Juan 14:3 – Revelation 1:7 – 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 – Revelations 22:12).

  10. The Final Judgment. God’s eschatological courtroom promises a fair trial to every person: which clearly and perfectly stipulates God’s will. (Matthew 25:31-32 – Acts 24:15 – John 5:28-19 – Revelations 20:11-15 – 1 Timothy 2:3-5 – 2 Peter 3:9 – Acts 10:43 – John 12-32 – 1 Corinthians 15:22-28)
